Ilija is a consultant at PR Legal, specializing in patent applications. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Belgrade (2008) with a focus on Material Handling, Logistics, and Construction. He furthered his education with a PhD in Micro-Nano Systems Engineering from Louisiana Tech University, where his research centered on rapid DNA analysis systems, integrated into a NASA nanosatellite prototype for radiation detection. He also worked on drug-eluting stent diffusion modeling.
Ilija has extensive experience both in Serbia and the USA, having worked for prestigious companies in various sectors. He spent four years at Intel in Oregon, USA. As a process engineer, he contributed to the development of the 14nm contact layer technology and led a project to create a thermal head for silicon die testing, achieving a 30% cost reduction.
Upon returning to Serbia, Ilija joined Bosch, where he was introduced to intellectual property, co-developing an innovative screening procedure praised by top management. He also worked at Draexlmaier, focusing on testing and defect management for battery control units and later contributing to the integration of Polarion-based Application Lifecycle Management software.
Ilija is fluent in Serbian and English, with advanced proficiency in German, and basic knowledge of Russian and French.
